Nasdaq, Inc. is an American multinational financial services corporation with its headquarters in New York City, owning and operating the NASDAQ stock market and eight European stock exchanges.
The Nasdaq Stock Market is the second largest stock exchange in the world by market capitalisation, second only to the New York Stock Exchange. Since 2008 Nasdaq, Inc has gradually been establishing themselves in the Nordic region through mergers and acquisitions of Nordic stock exchanges.
As of 2018 Nasdaq Nordic operates eight stock exchanges in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Nasdaq First North is a division of Nasdaq Nordic and a stock exchange for smaller companies in Europe. First North is Nasdaq’s European growth market for small and growing companies enabling Nordic and European entrepreneurs to access growth capital to develop and expand their business.
